Cha Cha Heels
We saw Cha Cha Heels on Saturday night - most enjoyable! This slick Drag Extravaganza by producer Bryan Bester, brings together a cast of eight of the South Africa’s leading Drag Artists, headed up by the formidable Ines Beau Rivage and features four handsome male dancers. Awesome costumes by Kurt van der Muller and choreography by Robin McBroom make it a night to remember.
Rihanna, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera and Nelly Furtado join disco favourites Shirley Bassey, Donna Summer, Tina Turner, Eartha Kitt, Cher and Gloria Gaynor. Also, a few numbers from old James Bond movies, Chicago and some Brazilian rhythms featuring Carmen Miranda.

Cha Cha Heels runs until the 10th August 2008 at the Tesson Theatre, Johannesburg Civic Theatre. Don't miss it!

Scruffy Angel
Here is a little drawing started in December last year just before my hand got broken. It was intended to be my Angel for Christmas. So at last my fingers are finally well enough (they can sort of bend again) to complete the drawing and start the process of colouring it. Watch this space!

Just have to share this wonderful drawing by the very talented Helen Facenna. You may remember some of her work previously featured here on DrawFellas.

G-Men Cover Art
![]() | Those Japanese illustrators are so damn good! Some G-Men back covers via A Bear in the City. I think most of them were done by Gengoroh Tagame and Jiraiya. G-men is a monthly Japanese magazine for gay men with photographs and drawings of hairy muscular men. The photographs sometimes feature traditional themes, such as fundoshi, traditional Japanese loincloths. Here is the entire back cover gallery. |

A little bit of mystery
I grew up in a pretty dark age and a very conservative country when it came the representation of male nudity. Occasional photos of shirtless guys in magazines were rare and finding them was a real treat. What a joy to finally live in an age where so many guys are comfortable showing their goods and talents online on Xtube and the like. Still, sometimes it is nice when there is a bit of mystery.

Tom of Finland on the streets of Paris
The advertising agency responsible for promoting the new fragrance by Etat Libre d'Orange has found a clever way of street marketing around the Marais.
