Bob Mizer founded the Athletic Model Guild in 1945, operating out of his mother's
house in Los Angeles, and published
Physique Pictorial, which featured photographs and artwork celebrating
the male physique. These have been the source materials for many artists like Harry Bush, Tom of Finland, George Quaintance and more and they continue to inspire.
The core of Bob Mizer's work, consisting of about one million photographic negatives and thousands of 16mm films and videotapes needs proper archival storage materials.
Please support the Bob Mizer Foundation with any donations via their Kickstarter project to protect and preserve this important part of history.
Read more about it and watch the video over at my friend Michael's blog Male Models Vintage Beefcake.
